Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CICS System Administrator/Programmer to manage and support IBM CICS Transaction Server environments on z/OS mainframes. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of mission-critical online transaction processing systems, while supporting integrations with enterprise platforms.

Automation Development & Engineering

• Design, develop, test, and implement automation solutions using OPS/MVS (Broadcom) and OPS/REXX.
  
• Build reusable automation modules to streamline system operations, batch processing, and event handling.
  
• Continuously identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes through automation.

System Administration & Support

• Administer and maintain OPS/MVS automation environments on IBM z/OS platforms.
  
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of automated processes.
  
• Perform system tuning and optimization to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

Production Support & Incident Management

• Provide L2/L3 support for production issues related to mainframe automation and system events.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  
• Participate in on-call rotation and support critical incident resolution when required.

Integration & Enterprise Coordination

• Integrate automation workflows with other mainframe subsystems (e.g., CICS, DB2, JES2/JES3, TSO, SDSF).
  
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to align automation solutions with business requirements.
  
• Support enterprise-wide automation initiatives and cross-platform orchestration

Disaster Recovery & Resilience

• Support and enhance automation in GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex) environments.
  
• Ensure automation readiness for disaster recovery (DR) scenarios and participate in DR drills.

Process Improvement & Governance

• Ensure compliance with ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  
• Maintain proper documentation of automation scripts, workflows, and operational procedures.
  
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Job Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM z/OS mainframe systems.
• Proven experience with OPS/MVS (Broadcom AutoOps) automation tool.
• Solid programming/scripting experience using OPS/REXX.
• Experience supporting production environments with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of mainframe components such as:
  
• JES2/JES3, TSO/ISPF, SDSF
  
• CICS, DB2 (preferred exposure)
  
• JCL, VSAM (working knowledge)

• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Preferred / Good to Have
  
• Experience with GDPS and high availability/disaster recovery setups.
  
• Exposure to other automation tools (e.g., System Automation, NetView).
  
• Knowledge of scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, CA-7).
  
• Experience with monitoring tools and event management frameworks.
  
• Basic understanding of security concepts (RACF/ACF2/Top Secret).
  
• Experience in financial services or other high-availability environments.
